The economic downturn has hit graduates hard. For those seeking work after university, 2011 was an undeniably testing year. And if recent headlines are to be believed, things are about to get even tougher. Getting ahead is now taking much more than it used to: employers are looking for higher calibre candidates, greater effort and considerably more preparation. The question is, can your skills to go the distance?
City CV is now offering graduates a half-day ‘Interview Bootcamp’. Unlike typical interview courses, City CV offers a rigorous approach that gets right under the skin of employers and what they’re looking for in their graduates. We know from experience that the more confident, prepared and focused you are at interview, the better your chances of success. Bearing this in mind we’ve created an intensive and highly results-driven programme in which you’ll learn to:
- Anticipate standard and competency based interview questions
- Structure interesting but focused answers
- Prepare for interview: tell and sell your story
- Perfect your communication and presentation skills
Conducted over four hours, with a short break in the middle, this is intensive training that’s practical, participant-centred and highly effective. The session will be led by two Professional Employment Interview Coaches who know exactly what it takes to help you stand out from the crowd.
Victoria McLean is a globally recognised Interview Coach and the founder of City CV Ltd. With an academic background in Industrial Economics, she has over fifteen years recruitment and coaching experience. This includes six years working on site at Goldman Sachs and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she was the recruitment lead for Investment Banking, Global Private Equity, Equities and Research. Victoria has a keen understanding of what employers are looking for at interview. Her strength lies in her ability to draw out relevant experiences, competencies and achievements and help her clients translate these into a winning performance.
Tony Corballis is a highly qualified and experienced communication skills trainer specialising in professional presentation skills training and professional employment interview skills training. He is an award-winning published author and a university lecturer, with an academic background in communication management and language training. His extensive experience in higher education has led to an understanding of graduates’ specific needs that is second to none. The portfolio of corporate clients he’s worked with includes ESPN, Amazon, IBM, Walt Disney, the NHS and Balfour Beatty Capital.
Fees are £199 per person (maximum of 10 people per Boot Camp).
